If I had a dollar for every time I said, "Okay, one more!" during a session… well, let’s just say I could probably buy another dachshund (or five)! I’m a total over-shooter, but it’s only because I truly LOVE photography.
Capturing real, joy-filled moments that turn into lifelong memories is what lights me up. Watching families grow year after year through my lens? That’s the magic.
In my personal life, I’m a mama to two wild, goofy, baseball-obsessed boys, and I’ve been married to my bearded best friend for 16 years. Together, we’ve built a beautiful, chaotic, love-filled life — including five dogs, three of which are (you guessed it) dachshunds. My husband is thrilled.
Whether I’m barefoot on the beach or chasing light in the desert, those golden sunsets are my happy place. Let’s create something beautiful together!
Why Me?
You’re probably wondering, “Why Sweet Potato Photography?” Well, it all started with my son. His name is Liam — though we originally considered spelling it “Lyam.” That little twist led to his first nickname: L-Yam, then Yam-Yam… and eventually, Sweet Potato. 🧡
When he was a baby, I picked up a camera for the first time with real purpose. I wanted to capture every tiny moment, every little expression, every fleeting phase — because time was moving so fast. He inspired this entire journey, so it only felt right to name my business after the nickname that still makes me smile.
But why Sweet Potato Photography — beyond the name?
Because photographs are more than just pictures. They're memories frozen in time. They’re the giggles on the beach, the quiet moments during a maternity session, the chubby baby toes, the wind-blown hair, the messy kisses — all the little details we think we’ll remember, but sometimes forget.
My goal is simple: to capture life as it is right now, in all its raw, joyful, emotional beauty. I want you to look back at your photos and be instantly taken back — to that exact feeling, that exact moment. And yes, I give 100% to every session… and maybe even a sucker at the end. 🍭
